What You’ll Be Doing

As an Analyst, you will have the responsibility of providing detailed analytical reports, financial modeling, structuring, research, transaction support, and other ad hoc requests for senior professionals in your business, with the goal of helping to grow the business.

  • Support marketers in the day to day coverage of clients as part of a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Constant efforts
    • Assisting with the new client on-boarding
    • Utilize data to identify potential opportunities
    • Pipeline maintenance
    • Production of the monthly dashboard to report business metrics
    • Maintain daily production database records
  • Prepare client pitches and presentations, provide daily market commentary and timely client support
  • Work on strategic business projects as required
  • Aide the team on complying with various regulatory requirements
  • Work with a broader team including banking, credit, legal, trading, structuring to address client needs
  • Analyze business performance, client trends, and regulatory impacts for business leads
  • Model, structure, and market Global Markets products to commercial clients

Job Description

The goal of SGI Securities’ capital markets business is to be the premier client-focused financial based in New York. To deliver on this, the capital markets arm of SGI Securities provides a wide range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate and retail clients in the USA and in key markets around the world.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will work with and support cross-functional teams by:

  • Automating and improving front-office processes and tools with a focus on profitability and workflow.
  • Working directly with senior traders to develop new apps within our front-office trading platform
  • Participating and eventually owning foundational operational and risk-related processes
  • Liaising with middle and back office with respect to the execution and settlement of the transactions, proactively working to resolve any issues
  • Building and maintaining relationships while working to optimize returns & resource usage for the trading book
  • Collaborating daily with custodians, clients, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure platform stability
  • Having a strong understanding of the creation/redemption process for ETF’s and their relationship with the derivative and/or cash products
  • Interacting on a daily basis with other internal teams such as support, technology, documentation, and finance.
  • Executing hedges to trades in the cash and futures markets
  • Assisting the senior traders on the desk with daily interface with Compliance, Tax, Legal, Credit, and Risk to address any open items
  • Releasing daily P&L for the desk and end of day risk reports

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work effectively within SGI Securities' corporate governance practices and policies (e.g. Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that SGI Securities legal/reputation issues and shareholder objectives are covered.
  • As an employee of SGI Securities, the incumbent must comply with all applicable Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.

Who You Are

  • Education. A strong academic background in computer science/engineering, mathematics, and/or statistics. The candidate would need to eventually write the Series 7, Trader Training, Equities/Futures/Options Licensing, or be actively working towards this registration.
  • Industry Experience.
    • Analyst - 1-2 years of relevant Financial Industry experience in a similar position.  Basic knowledge and experience in equity and/or automated trading.
    • Associate – 2-5 years of relevant Financial Industry experience in a similar position.  Basic knowledge and experience in equity and/or automated trading.
  • Detail-Oriented. Proven ability to pay close attention to detail and multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, results-oriented, and a team player. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming and application skills (C++/C#, VBA, Python, Shell scripts, Excel, Access) is preferred.
  • Creativity skills are sufficient to resolve problems and/or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of elements of profitability, risk, and cost control.
  • Unquestioned professionalism, ethics, and reputation and proven ability to exercise strong independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing SGI Securities.
